Welcome to Black Excellence Chicago, where we celebrate the triumphs and navigate the challenges of the Black community in our beloved city. We are more than an organization; we are a movement, dedicated to shining a light on the incredible achievements of Black individuals and communities throughout Chicago, while actively working towards a future where every person is empowered to realize their highest potential.
Our focus extends deeply into communities like Bronzeville and Austin, where we are committed to being agents of positive change, addressing issues of crime and inequality through empowering initiatives, resource provision, and genuine acts of service. Join us in crafting a legacy of Black Excellence, and letโs rewrite Chicagoโs story together, ensuring it is richly imbued with the successes and indomitable spirit of its Black community.
Black Excellence Chicago seeks to be a beacon of hope, inspiration, and tangible support for the Black community.
Between 2010 and 2020, Chicagoโs Black population decreased by 3%. Black residents now account for 29% of the cityโs total population. In 2017, Black residents were 31% of the population.

Nearly 100,000 Black residents have left Chicago in the last decade in search of more affordable housing, higher-performing schools, and safer spaces, regardless of their income level.
